Love the smilies!

I'm sat here trying to do an essay on the Economic policies of John Mynard Keynes. I havea computer with Civ 2 on it.

Not much contest!

Those Spanish are taking up far too much of Africa for my liking!

If it isn't the game itself, it's the message board about the game....

Yes. Civ can stop all other activity you have. They should have a warning sign on the cover:

CAUTION: MAY CAUSE SEVERE ADDICTION. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.

Just the other day, I was tired after a several hour drive, but after that I played civ for even more hours, without noticing time... thats a bad sign.

Even this forum is highly addictive!
I'm at work and I don't have Civ on this machine.
But I've got a fat pipe out to the Web and I keep a browser open on CivFanatics, natch.
(Just in case anyone wants to contact me, honest.)
Productivity? Hmmm...

True, true...

Hey, you too, you're doing the same thing than me. That's not good
smile.gif
You should work. So should I... But it's hard, with this f**** browser opened to the Civ Forum webpage
smile.gif
smile.gif

But anyway, where are you working? I'm in London.

Productivity? Hmmm...
Me? how much is 5 - 5?
lol.gif

That's the fault of Sid Meier. Why the hell has he created Civilization?

I work in London too. In the city.
2 minutes walk from Liverpool Street station.

(I'm just slipping over to Off-Topic to post my next

)

I am also at work. I don't post much from home. Connection is too slow.

I usually don't get any REAL work done until about 10:00 because I have to check the forums to see what's happening. And forget about the last few days with a new GOTM, scores from the previous GOTM ready soon, and two succession games.

I do feel better knowing that there are others like me!

Finally I can see I'm not alone in that special club. The "let's check the civ forum while at work" club

Seems that it has more members than I thought
smile.gif

But I claim I'm worst "wounded" by that horrible Sid Meier's plague
lol.gif
, that work destroyer disease. And it's worse than a plague since there's no cure for Civ addiction

Anyway, some comments:
_ CornMaster, it's strange that you don't have a good connection at work. Normally at office, it's far faster than at home, since there are generally broadband connection. But perhaps you're not at work but playing at Civ in your bedroom. Naughty
lol.gif

_ off topic too. Hi Stormerne. I know where Liverpool street lies. I'm on the City Road. We should be able to do something interesting on week-end, right? Such as a deathmatch in Civ 2
smile.gif

Well, I'd better hide this browser because my boss is not far, eheh. Later.

, check out this introductory paragraph from CGW's Civ3 Preview:

You relate to the tales, almost always recounted with the kind of guilty pride reserved for more carnal pleasures. There's the new-to- gaming editorial intern who booted up CIV at 2 o'clock one afternoon and, when everyone came into the office the next morning, was still at his computer. There's the lawyer who mailed Sid Meier a four-page lawsuit seeking compensatory damages at the lawyer's hourly rate for all the time he spent playing CIV instead of working. There's the woman who spent an entire weekend-48 hours straight-playing. And how about the college couple that agreed to alternate playing in one-hour shifts, only to see the girlfriend lock her boyfriend out one night for hours so she could finish a game.

The preview article is really good! Maybe I can do something about it if you guys REALLY want to read it.

It's not April Fool!

My brother bought the magzine 2 days ago and I asked him to scan the entire preview for me. They are sitting on my hard drive right now.

Put me in the "post at work" crew. In fact, 90% of all posts I make are at work. I some times need a good slap to keep me up at work, and this site (as well as Apolyton) keep me occupied in my down time....

Very well, in this case, I wouldn't like to be that girl's boyfriend
smile.gif
It'd be horrible. Generally, the opposite happens, right?

we truly are civ fanatics, even at work we cant stop thinking of this forum
Before, I usually think at girls, but indeed since I discovered civ fanatics forum... Girls are no more a conversation subject
lol.gif
lol.gif

And I now feel guilty for going on this forum during my work hours

Hmmm, that sounds familiar.

Cure for Civ addiction... wonderful idea, GenghisK! That is truly a wonder though, we need a miracle to get rehabilitated.

Nobody else says anything, but I REALLY want to read that.
