Civ 3 Complete NO CD Help

Hey i don't have a dvdrom in my ibook and im about to sell my powermac and while i was able to install civ 3 complete on my ibook im having a hell of a time trying to get it to run without the disk. i've been trying pretty hard on my powermac to get it to run without the dvd, and disk image isn't seeming to work? anyone else trying anything/having a hard time/offer any suggestions?

Perfect oppertunety to rant:
I think this whole "cd-in-drive" thingy is downright annoying in and of itself.
If I buy a legal copy of say, adobe photoshop (just an example) I only need the install disk in the drive to install the software. It will then run without the install disk in the drive, and I can put away the install disk in a vault or something.

So why should it work any diffrent with game software? :cringe:

Maybe we can convince Brad to make a patch where the disk-in-drive 'feature' is removed? :)

It wouldn't be a first, the company Bioware had removed the disk-in-drive feature for their game NeverWinter Nights in patch 1.65! :goodjob:
And what a releave it is! :cool:

It would be cool if all other game company's followed this good example!
