Civ 3 Edit Problem - An Option Disapeared

When i would go into the Civ 3 Edit Tool i would create my map then edit the rules. Under i believe General Settings, i had an option that allowed me to change the amount of minimum and maximum turns that it took for a civilization to discover a new tech. i had a problem with Civ 3 a couple of days ago so i reinstalled it and now its gone, can some one tell me how to get it back, is there a program i may have installed that was removed during reinstallation?

how about applying the patch? Maybe you applied the incorrect patch (the one that had a faulty editor).

ive got the right patch, is there anything else it could be?

i fixed it, what i did was removed the patch v1.16 from Civ3, then i reinstalled it and it seems to be working now
