I just recently went back to play a few games on Civ 2 and I am realising, my gameplay stinks now!
I am crippled by Civ 3 tendancies.

- I don't build too many cities because I think corruption will be rampant even in democracy.
- I think 3 discoveries per turn is unheard of.
- I can't ever remember that switching prodution will half my shields already in place.
- The pyramids ARE more useful.
- Settlers only cost 1 pop point and they do the work.
- ZOC will prevent me from settling behind enemy lines.
- I am constantly thinking about Culture Flipping.

And there are MANY more other issues I need to deal with.

Civ 3 and Civ 2 are two different games.

:) :)

Strange - after playing civ3 for ages I have started playing civ2 again recently (still playing civ3 as well) and I've found the that I am consistently getting better scores on civ2 and I am able to play on higher levels than I did previously! Very odd.......

The two most certainly are different games - both good in their own way (and with their own faults to).

;)

I guess I just need to take my time more and look at the whole situation.
In Civ 3 I can barely win on Diety.
In Civ 2 I am doing worse on King than I did just before Civ 3 came out. :(
Although my warmongering in Civ 2 is better. :) Its on the domestic front that I have troble now.

Well what do we learn from this:

Always separate the games and never try to use a tactic you established in a game in another. Or it will end like this you posted ;)

Indeed they are 2 very different games.

One is very good. One is very bad :D

Gee, I wonder which you think is the good one and which you think is the bad one. ;)

Its been a few days and things are almost back to normal. :)

Civ2 is exactly 116,001,214,752,136,852.158742 as good as Civ3... :D

I think playing Civ2 is much like riding a bike, it's not something you forget...
