Civ 3 Tournament Proposal

Add information as your Nick on the Forum, the difficulty you usually play Civ3, and any Ideas you have for the Tournament.
 
I have 2 suggestions:

First, you might want to consider not counting the lowest of the four scores for each person within a season. Some people might have a hard time completing the games in 12 days and this way, the penalty for missing one of the four would not be so great.

Second, I don't see any reason to weight the scoring based on the map size, etc. Everyone is playing the same 4 games and it should all work out. Also, if you take my first suggestion, then weighting the scores based on the game wouldn't work anyway.

I like your first Idea, and will probably use it. I have to consult some of the ones I discussed this Idea with first and see what they think.

The score will be a percentage of the player with the highest score and Fastest fininsh. So your score will be a Percentage of the best score and fastest finish(of the specific goal).

i'll play in the tourny, if there's room. i play in the regular group. i might move up soon but not right now. just thought i'd shor some interest.:D
 
Grey Fox I sent you an e-mail saying that I wanted to join the tournment. Tell me if you get it or not, because my computer kicked me off right after I sent it.
 
hi, sounds like a cool idea

i think the small maps is a good idea as often i find the end game is boring when the victory is certain ut it takesd hours to get there

i think the set victory condition eliminates the problem of early conquest every time, but i am curious as to why u allow any other victory at all?

are the fundamental rules the same as GOTM - no restarts or reloads. I would prefer this, as i dont have the time or inclination to play the same game 10 times till i get it 'right'

The GOTM rules applies to this tournament too.

No Reloads, nor Restarts. And all other rules that the GOTM has.


Why would we have all victories set on when e.g. Spaceship is the Goal?

The answer to that is that you have to avoid all other victory types aswell.
 
2 More Players for the Regular Division! :D


We need more players for the Elite Division(Deity and Emperor)!
 
Looks like us regular division people is going to have some compatation.

Heh... well, if I didn't simply wet myself at the mere utterance of "Deity Level", I'd give it a whirl. But that would require doing much more laundry than I'd like. So I'll stick down here in the Regular Division.
 
Hey i sent you an email. Sounds like fun. Good competition much faster then GOTM and on a more even field.

I like the fact that the lower 25% move down. Should make it very competitive. I hope i can pull through. Then again I'm not sure about being an elite. Lets just see.

This will, I am assuming be with the latest patch, which actually on this friday will be v.1.21, IIRC.
