Civ 4 and $%(&)^* Vista

I know its been posted before, but i can't figure it out
I've tried everything I read, I updated Vid card drivers, I added Warlords, I unchecked the two boxes when you initially load for all users and the firewall exception I still can't get it past the "Insert correct DVD-ROM"
Not to beat a dead horse, and I'm sure you're all getting sick of responding but any other ideas or even something I missed would be greatly appreciated
Its Vista Home Basic OEM install if that makes a difference

Don't run the game as administrator, and turn off the Windows XP compatibility mode I think it affects the copy protection

Thank you. I'm a Windows Vista user who had the "Please Insert CD-ROM" problem, and this fix worked!
