I have played tons of hours on this game, specifically the Europe 1936 game and I wanted to see it through; but the game crashes on me, and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. The game is fine for weeks of play, then it cuts out and says there is an error, just after I press enter at the end of a turn, Can anyone help?
Civ 4 Beyond the Sword The Road to War keeps crashing on me

I've had this same problem with Road to War. It's my favorite game, and it starts up fine, but always crashes later in the game (after 1942 or so). I originally purchased the game on CD years ago - but more recently downloaded it from Steam. Played it on various PCs and Laptops I've owned over the years - and running Vista to System 10. Always, always always crashes to desktop.
All other games and scenarios work fine.

Gave Road to War 1939 a try yesterday, and it crashed near the end of '39 already. Played as Germans, and had collected a large stack of air and land units in one city when hitting the end turn. Then it crashed to desktop. As I never get crashes with Civ4 I googled and found more people having trouble with RtW, so I guess the mod is pretty buggy, unfortunately.
