Civ 4 on Steam - functional or not?

Hi All. Apologies, I’m not very computer literate. If I (re)buy Civilization 4 BTS on Steam will it run on a modern PC or will I need to do a load of reprogramming that is probably beyond me? Thanks.

Sure. I've been using the Steam version for years. Just make that after you install that you switch to the Beta "original release" version. Go to Properties>Betas in the Steam library for BTS.

Run the game from the bts executable in the steam>blah blah>BTS>BTS folder. Set the exe to run as admin and Win 7 compatibility mode.
