Chieftain
Greetings,
So I recently purchased a new machine and upgraded from my old XP desktop. I've tried installing Civilization 4 on my new machine (Vista 64-bit) and the install works, however, once I start the game the screen loads, but the menu's do not appear.
My machine specs:
Vista Home Premium - SP1
Pentium Core Quad Processor 2.33ghz
GeForce FX 6200 256 DDR Graphics Card
6GB RAM
I've updated my graphics card drivers.
I've tried running the install and the app as the admin.
I've tried running/installing in XP compatible mode.
Tried updating my DirectX.
Tried to manually patch the game. (Receiving error occured while running setup)
The sound plays, the main screen loads, but the menus are just not there. I can mouse over their spots, but they are invisible.
I've scoured the net and googled and googled. I've also tried a million other things I can't even think of right now... All with no luck.
Has anyone had a similar issue? Did you resolve it? If so, how?
Any help from anyone is much, much appreciated.
Regards!
