Hey Guys,

I've just installed Warlords but I'll be damned if I can get the thing to work properlly. I'm missing the intro movie, I can't access the Options screen, and while I can start a game, I'm missing all the menus and overlays.

I've tried re-installing warlords and 3 different driver rollbacks. Non of which have made any difference. I guess I should also mention I'm using an AMD Sempron 2400.

I still have no problems running Civ 4, only Warlords is giving me grief. Any one with similar problems? I can't find a thread anywhere with similar symptoms..

BTW Hello to all the CivFanatics out there, long time reader, first time poster ;)

OK. Here's a reply :)

I don't know about the intro movie. Are you going directly into the menu? Can you verify that in Civ4 folder, under \Warlords\Assets\Art\Movies\Intros\, the intro.bik is properly installed? It should have 30.1 MB or so. Can you verify that under my games\warlords, in the ini file, NoIntroMovie is not set to 1?

If you feel like experimenting, you can back up the warlords intro.bik and copy civ4 intro.bik to the warlords folder. Can you see now civ4 intro video when starting warlords?
Or vice versa, copying warlords intro into civ4 intro movies folder (back up original intro first). Can you now see warlords intro video when starting civ4?

What do you mean that you cannot access the options screen? Why? Post some screenshots. The options menu is under advanced. BTW you cannot access it from the first menu, or in-game, or from neither?

As for missing menus and overlays, post a screenshot. Could it be that you have interface turned off. There should be some key combination like (guessing) Alt+I or Ctrl+I that should turn interface on/off.

yes the intro movie is there all 30.1mb of it, and i havent changed the warlords ini file.

the options screen and the missing overlays is the weird part. i go to advanced -> click options and nothing happens. but if i got to say, mods or what ever that other one is, it works.

and when i get into the game, there is literally no menus, no bars, no nothing. the only thing that appears is the main menu, which will not allow me access to the options either. yes i've tried the ctrl-I thing too.

thanks for your reply tho.

You're not getting any weird error messages on start up, right? Have you considered modifying some options in the ini file? E.g., try launching the game in a window (Fullscreen = 0).

When in-game, can you found a city? Can you move units? Have you tried to start a mod? Is it the same? Can you access menus using function keys (F1 to Fx)?

Edit: I don't know what this option does, but try setting it to 1.
; Use managed interface textures (may be safer but shouldn't be needed, uses more memory)
GUIManagedTextures = 0
