I am installing it on a compaq laptop and every time i go to install it, their is an error at the same place, I think its in warlords desert terrain dark blend. I downloaded the complete edition from amazon that comes with both versions plus colonization. Colonization downloaded and will run but not the base civ 4. Help!!

See this email I just sent to GameFly (ptui!), I'll wager the versions you are using are NOT compatible either. Lovely eh?

Ok...the D2D versions of Civilization 4 Warlords, and Civ 4 Beyond the Sword are NOT compatible with the GameFly downloaded version of Civ 4 Complete. Warlords and BTS are NOT stand alone games, they rely on the base game, Civ 4, to run.

I've been looking around on the Civilization Fanatics website, and others, and people have been waiting since February in order to be able to download these games from you (as promised),and the only reply they've got was that you're working on it, and it will be on line "real soon now". That was February, it's now July, six months...and from what I gather most avid gamers (some of whom had bought dozens of games from D2D and are waiting, and waiting) are none too impressed with the service level you promised the clients of D2D when you bought them out. I'm also none too happy with Steam, and the entire ridiculous process and freaking ads to add insult to injury.

when can we expect the other Civ 4 games to become available?

If you have bought complete then that contains everything, basic vanilla civ 4, warlords and Beyond the Sword (and maybe colonisation depending on the version of complete). Uninstall any previous versions and install the complete version. Games from different download sources are not usually compatible as they use different DRM, but I agree, the service from Gamefly on taking over D2D is atrocious. Luckily I only have one game from D2D that had no DRM and the other I bought uses Steam so is not tied to D2D. Gamefly just don't appear to be interested in their D2D Civ customers.
