Civ 5 crashing comp

My computer is constantly carshing my game in less than 5 turns, which is really annoying. I changed a few things in the documents, so could this be the problem?

Unlikely but possible I'd guess. More likely: faulty hardware (including overheating) or the lack of drivers.

c) what does crash mean? crash to desktop, freeze? bluescreen? restart (bluescreen)?

it justs turns off, and i notice the sevral things go haywire(animations, wierd colours, sound, terrain) my comp doesn't have overheating, but until i looked in the documents for civ 5 and changed a few things there was a problem. or maybe its the mods, I downloaded one and had a bunch working at the same time and i got this leader, which doesnt have anything and is weird and the computer said error for the leader.

Is it possible to make a screenshot before the computer crashes?
(I mean e.g. if the graphical problems appear a turn before it crashes)

I deleted all my save files, mods and now my game seem to work smoothly but it still crashes. also the graphical problems are this- the screen dims then brightens and so on and then crashes
