Civ 5 making my laptop randomly go to sleep

I've had civ for over a year and played it on this laptop perfectly but recently I've been having a problem where when I'm playing my laptop will randomly go to sleep and I'll have to turn it back on but then it'll happen again 5-10 minutes later. I tried playing in vanilla and with mods but the same thing happens. I tried completely disabling sleep mode and using programs that prevent sleep but it still happens. I have no idea what could be causing this as I've said before I've never had any problems with it.

Is your laptop overheating? Some are programmed to go to sleep to prevent damage.

It doesn't feel to be overheating and its not like it happens in other games either

Are you sure it isn't blue screening you or something because your PC can't handle it?

What sounds like a similar or even the same problem happens to me when I start to get later in a game. My screen goes black, I get the low power mode notification on my screen, n then I hafta restart it.
