Which civs are more aggressive? After reading lots o' articles in the War Acedemy and posts here, I'm trying to instigate war. This is what I've done against the Egyptians:

1) Sign MPPs with everybody except Egypt
2) Asked for 43 gpt and demanded it till she was furious
3) Moved workers around to get 'em to stike first

But yet she hasn't struck. I'm wondering if she's a very unaggressive civilization. Know for sure, please reply.

Civs like Germans, Zulus are more aggressive. I think in the bic file, there's an aggression setting for each leader, so best if you can check there direct. ;)

Seeing as no one has answered it exactly yet, Cleo is smackdab in the middle of the aggressiveness slider.

I would also add that having MPPs with everyone else is likely to keep Cleo from wanting to attack. Ask yourself how sometimes you begin thinking you wanting to attack another civ, but hold off because you see that civ has an MPP with another one.

You could try plopping down a city right along her cultural borders, and leave it undefended.

check the settings in the bic file, but i know that the zulus are the most aggressive, their slider is all the way up. The other militaristic civs come after that.

Actually no...China is militaristic and is only the 2nd from the bottom, so they have very low agression.

Finally figured it out. I moved in a Modern Armor and another worker. Then I moved it around and caused disaaray 'till she furiously told me to get out. When I tried to click on "That's it. Goodbye" she declared war on me. He heh - she was overrun in less than 20 turns.

I'm not sure that doesn't make you the agressor (ie you take the rep hit). After all, you're the one who moved troops into her territory without permission, and refused to remove them when she asked.

Certainly if I was programming the AI I would make it count that as unprovoked aggression from your part...

Germany and Aztecs I believe are the most agressive.

Open the Editor, there you can see how aggressive different civs behave, p.ex. Germans and Zulus are the most agressive, India and France are the most peaceful.

France? PEaceful? In my last game they overran half the world before a coalation of all the remaining (8) nations including myself managed to take her down.

so did she destroy people if not she might have been a peacful expansionist person i think it depends on the type of game you play justhow agressive they are

I'm not sure either. But the AI does it to me all the time. Especially the English. Many times the English will not get out unless the thing says "Remove your forces from my territory or declare WAR!"

When I have time I'll start a thread entitled "dumb diplomacy" where anybody can post dumb funny things the AI has said.

But the whole world declared war on Egypt that turn, so I guess that it didn't backfire or anything.

The thing that worried me the most is when I tried to say "That's it. Goodbye" the Military Advisor popped up with his "Let's destroy them, sir!" and the two options that said "You're right. They are scum!" and the "No. We should respect our neighbors."

The Germans are usually crushed in all my games, either the first or the second (the Romans are the first if they're there). :)

In the Civilization game editor, there is a bar where you can change aggresiveness, that is if you want to create your own game.

Diplomacy sucks.:sniper:

Disregard this message, it is already posted above.

Ha you gave yourself a huge rep hit. Not only were you the one that was the agressor*basically by saying goodbye that means **** you I'm not leaving* but your were also in their territory so now no civ will ever trust you again to make a RoP agreement. You should have just declared war through the advosor screen with no troops in their teritory and then as soon as they attacked troops in your territory all the MPP would have gone online anyway.

I didn't have a RoP agreement if you're talking about how I got a rep hit. Me the aggressor? Yes you could say. But the point is that she attacked me, so the rest of the AIs figured she was the aggressor. Could this be an exploit? Maybe. But she isn't the kind of civ that constantly casually moves troops into your territory so it wouldn't work to move all my workers on the border that I share with her. So - the question is - how would you do it?

I read that declaring war on another civ causes war weariness and it's already bad enough that you have to churn out troops - you don't need to have to deal with making every unhappy citizen an entertainer.

If you break the RoP, doesn't that mean that they will declare war on you, not the other way around? You broke, they broke, they declare war, right? I'd jot down some tips if I got any from this thread - not much except to check up on the editor and find who's the most aggressive.

If you are in their territory when war is declared, no matter whoc eclares it, it is counted as an RoP rape wether you had an Rop or not. By not leaving their territory and the advosor showing up and saying are you sure, means that you were the agressor. The only reason that the other civs helped you is becuase regardless of who starts it they have to help you if yyou units get attacked and you have a MPP with them.
