There is currently a discussion in the UN whether utility programmes like Civ Asist II should be allowed ...

Here is the link.

I myself am not in favour unless every team uses it.

Does anyone have the programme and use it?

I'd personally prefer it to be allowed, since it's much lighter than actual civ3 making it much easier to check the game situation with it. I don't know what kind of spoiler information it (supposedly) provides in multiplayer though. I always use it for my single player games, couldn't imagine playing without it anymore.

I too am addicted to it. But I followed the discussion in the main forum, and if it is indeed the case the CAII shows things that cannot be known ingame then we should not use it. I have yet to see anyone state that clearly though, it seems to be in question.

I am blind without it...
(okay blind on one eye. The other eyes sees through MapStat  )

But of course - we need it to be spoiler-free. Let's wait till chamnix tested it... :scan:

IIRC the spoiler problem was solved a year ago or so.

I'll run a check later this week.

I don't recall any spoiler info in CAII - I'd vote to allow it.
We'll see what Chamnix comes up with.

I had a look last night at an old MTDG1 save, the trade options and technology screens did not show what techs or resources your opponents had. I didn't take any screenshots, if I get some time to do it at work today I will do and post them in the UN thread.

If there are no spoilers, then yes - I think we should be able to use it. Even if there are spoilers, then I think we should be able to use it, just be on our honor to not look at the tabs with spoiler info (and not show alerts for spoiler info)

It just makes some things *so* much easier, is all.
