First and foremost I love reading about the Napoleonic wars and what not so naturally this scenario is probably one of my favorite missions/scenarios in any game out there.

I have beaten this scenario with the French before but I fail to find an effective way of beating it as either the Prussians or Austrians. Because they are landlocked I usually always end up fighting a 2 front war some time or another which always screws me. If any of you have any suggestions or ideas please help me out!

Try bribing some neighbors into the war. I find that it's usually France and the west in one game and Prussia, Russia, Austria and Turkey in the east. I've only had France come after me once when I was Austria and that was very late game. This is the one scenario where heavy use of siege is absolutely essential. I'm usually cannons and cavalry all the way.

Use lots of fast units since there really isn't an elite infantry unit for them.

I played Prussia once. I built up, waiting for France to take Amsterdam. Once they did, I attacked them, taking both Amsterdam and Brussels. I also attacked Denmark that turn, since France and the Danes are aligned. I was winning both wars, but I got bored with it and quit.

I've actually just restarted this scenario and are playing as Austria. I have decimated Prussia off the map but some how they survive as Great Britain gave them a sole city in Ireland.... WTH.... Ive pretty much defeated and Prussia and now Im going after the Neopolitains. Ive been keeping Russia happy throughout the game so I dont have to fight them hopefully. I feel war brewing between me and the Ottomans eventually though.....

I agree with most of the strategy. I usually go after the Ottomans first because they have better units later and luxuries but either way should work. I have a question, though. I've never gone after the Neopolitans - aren't they in a locked alliance with Great Britain. I've worried that Great Britain would declare on me. I always try to avoid war with Britain and France if I'm on the eastern side of the map.

I am curious about Britain's attitude. If they don't DOW you I'll start doing that. I've always gone Prussia and Ottomans first trying to keep Russia content.

Actually I have gone to war with United Kingdom but they never really attack me. Now Ive defeated both Prussia and the Neopolitians. Ive kept the Ottomans and the Russians content. Im about to decimate Denmark and I am only 4 or 5 cities away from beating Napoleon

As the austrians, I like going after russia's southern cities (south of kiev) in the first couple turns before I turn on the ottomans. Ataxerxes is right, as the austrians set your sights for the ottomans first. Ive been able to push them back far enough so that all they have on the west side is istanbul and athens. Also, i never build up my defense because hussars 6.4.2. are just as good as 4.4.1. grenzers on defense. After decimating the ottomans I quickly rebuild and eliminate the prussians who are one of the weakest in this scenario.
