Hello,

Suddenly today when opening up Civ on my cpu I get an error message like this:

Runtime Error!

Program:c:\program files\steam\st...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Also, the pop-up box is titled, "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"...is there a fix for this? It worked fine until today. Thanks in advance for the help.

Also I've found that I can start a new game, but the error only comes up when I hit the "Load Game" button on the main menu....not sure if that helps.

It worked fine yesterday and I haven't seen a patch download in the last day..this really stinks.

I would say it's an issue with Steam. I started a new game and when I tried to access the Steam Cloud it gave me the same error again. Apparently the Steam name is taken from "Steaming Pile of Crap"...does anyone have a fix for this? I'm jonesing here!!

Ah, steam cloud.
If steam does not have enough time to synchronize all the stuff, then it can happen that the savegames get corrupted (see also here).

I'll check that link out...I believe that is what happened. I found a link which allowed Steam to run a check and it found one bad file...now the problem is it won't re download the file. I just get another error message saying the game has an "Incomplete Installation"...so now I'm worse off lol.

I'm now unable to even launch the game. I was going to clear out my Steam cache, but I think I have another issue now.
