Civ Gold Edition

I just recently go Civ III gold edition. I downloaded all the update packs for PTW from GOTM 21 - 25 will these work? I'd like to try GOTM.

In the civ3 folder the reamd me says 1.29f. In the civ3/civ3ptw folder the readme says 1.26f. I'm wondering what i need to download.

I think you ned to dl the lates patch (1.27f) for PTW, then install the files for the GOTM's and you should be ready to go.

I tried patching to 1.27f but then the game always asked for the PTW CD. It wouldn't accept the Gold Edition one.

I think that the Gold Edition already comes patched to at least 1.21f, if not 1.27f. Installing the patch just makes the copy protection look for a different CD (as you have just found-out the hard way ) Try uninstalling the patch, and see if the game will run (otherwise, you might have to reinstall Civ and PTW).

Start the game (PTW), and look in the bottom-left corner of the menu screen. That gives you the actual patch version.

The GOTM can be played in 1.21f or 1.27f
