Civ III Conquests crash to desktop - HELP!

Hi. I'm playing Conquests version 1.22. Upon entering the industrial age, the game crashes to the desktop. I tried replaying the game from the turn before after loading the most recent save from the auto save menu. Unfortunately, the game crashes every time in the same spot. Is there a workaround in this case? I really don't want to abandon this game because I'm about to smash my last opponent. I'm one city away from their source of saltpeter. No cavalry for you!

I suspect maybe your graphics are messed up. The Inbetween ages graphic may be corrupted. You could try reinstalling.

I played the turn through with no problems. Here's the save and turn log:
Mpondo - finished bank, started musketman
Hannover - finished library, started aquaduct
Goa - lost musketeer to Cav.
Castelo Branco - lost musketeer to cav. Musket fortified on mountain attacked.
Nazare reenforced.
