Civ III: Conquests Patch Notice

It sucks, but I am glad they caught this bug and are fixing it rather than releasing the patch with it in.

Come on now, wouldn't you prefer that it takes a few more days, but they get all the bugs out? It sure beats waiting until Q2 2004 in any event.
I'm going home this weekend, which means my T1 suddenly becomes a modem... :(

Well, they won't be getting all the bugs out. I, for one, never expected them to. Heck, we are use to bug ridden patches and i just want one to fix the 2 biggies in the epic game for now.

problem with choosing Random Civs in MP

choosing random civs is MP ? How come thats a problem ? I tought fixing the RCP - FP - GPT was the primary concern... if some random civs bug takes the patch after christmas

I'm very surprised that the "AI accidentally causing war by bumping into submarines" bug is not considered critical enough to be addressed in the first major patch. My current game turned insane once subs were introduced. It's one big Battle Royale. Allies turn against allies every few turns. It's just one big mess. I'm thinking about deactivating all subs from the build queues until this bug is fixed.

To the ones, who were not pleased by the dropped new combat system:

TheNiceOne has posted some figures in a new thread, called http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72463 .

I just don't want all of us to repeat the well-known arguments, I just want to put your attention to the fact, that the comparison between "similar" - in regards to the respective strength - units is less frightening, as it is between extremes, meaning between the best attacker and the almost worst defender, or vice versa.

This, as far as I see it, has to less been taken into account during the course of our ... "discussion".

Maybe, this should be kept in mind, in case, Firaxis ever opens that case again.

Historically, the list of changes in Civ3 patches has not been thorough, even in the readme you get from the actual patch. When people are burning the candle at both ends to make schedules, documentation is a low priority. Hopefully this will be included in the patch, even if undocumented.

Oh, no!

No more double gold?

But I'm ruling the world with double gold!

My coffers are full and my people rejoice!

Lo, the end of double gold . . . .

A certain sadness decends upon the land.

If they are taking thier sweet time to fix MP stuff, I certainly hope they fix the submarine bug.

I am hoping someone fixes this weird problem I and others are having with the MP screen being locked. It makes the expansion a waste of money since I can't play it.

Well, the two issues that I think need to be fixed the most are the FP bug, and the submarine bug. They aren't fixing either, are they?

I don't know about the submarine bug, which also applies to Hidden units, but for the FP bug:

Updates BETA v1.10:
CIV III: CONQUESTS BETA v1.10
* Fixed issues with corruption

:yeah: Where is this patch then? :yeah:

I was wondering the same thing kOc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I fear it'll be something for in between Xmas and NewYear.

Perhaps the proposed Combat mod has increased the probability of delays to production schedules :D
