Civ III gold unable to install Conquests?

I recently obtained Civilization III Conquests, but when I tried to install it with my copy of Civilization III Gold Edition, it wouldn't install. It kept saying "Unable to locate Civilization III".

Is Conquests incompatible with Gold Edition or is there a way to install it?

You can do a search for relevant threads in this forum, but, IIRC, Gold and Conquests don't play well together. I remember when Conquests came out many people had trouble adding it to their "Gold" versions.

Your best bet is to find a copy of Civ3-Complete and install that.
