Hi to everybody.

After i install Civilization 4, in the game directory i have these files:
_civ4Config.ink
_civ4Customassets.ink
_civ4CustomMaps.ink
_civ4CustomMods.ink
_civ4Patch.ink
_civ4Saves.ink
_civ4ScreenShots.ink
_civ4TransferredMaps.ink

None of the .ini files is installed, and in My Documents folder i got no My Games folder with Civilization 4 in it.

Can you help me please. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't look like anything was installed. :(

In your Civ game folder you should have a number of sub-folders with a load of stuff in, some .dll files, the Civ executable game file and the .lnk files you listed above (they are .lnk "link/shortcut" files by the way, not .ink files). These shortcuts point to the user folders that should have been created under My Documents
e.g. my _Civ4CustomAssets.lnk points to "C:\Documents and Settings\myname\My Documents\My Games\Civilization 4\CustomAssets"

I think you should try again - pop the CD/DVD in the drive and let it autorun. On the Setup screen select Express Install for a default installation without further prompting. It takes a good couple of minutes to copy over all the files to the hard disk. I'm suggesting a default install because maybe you selected an alternative location and it went wrong or something. It shouldn't do, but it wouldn't harm to go along with where the installer wants to put the game next time.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Those files are not ink files, but lnk files; lnk for link. They are links to the real file / folders stored as Velvet-Glove indicated. However, the target files / folders are only created after first starting the game (at least the ini file is).
