Moosebox said:Yea...I guess I'm just use to being around people playing games like F.E.A.R and Call of Duty 2 and what not, seems the Civilization crowd is a different type of gamer.
Coky said:I pre-ordered mine from the U.S. (EBgames.com) and i'm in canada.. Will mine be CD or DVD? I've heard many people say the U.S. version is CD and many say it's DVD. Any Clarification would be great. And my computer can run Civ4 without any problem and I don't have a dvd rom installed. (it's in my closet somewhere and I don't wanna have to take it out and hook it up.) So can people clarify this?

The europeans may have to use the DVD version, but hey, they have universal health care.
hahntsak said:I budgeted my quarterly not just monthly disposable funds toward the game. that means come 3 months later I could get one of those 'cheap' drives. that also means installing it. now some people may open up their pc every week, but not all of us.
the DVD stand alone or with a VCR combo [some have their only dvd built into a TV], is only for movies. most of the dvd's I've seen on friends computers somehow have a problems playing those same movies on the pc. so they have to have a DVD-ROM and a DVD player for the TV sererate.
If you really want a DVD just order the European version of the game.
hahntsak said:after spending $50 for the game, then more money plus hours intalling a cdrw/dvd combo that's more than I bargained for. If it's dvd only, they should state so before people order. $50 is my budget for the pc for the quarter not just the month. not all of us are made of money.
but installing a bunch of new hardware
