Due to system requirements I was forced to wipe my hard drive. I am now trying to reinstall Civ IV and am unable to get a clean instalation. Instalation goes through disc 1 no problem, but when loading disc 2 get about 2/3 of the way through instalation and it freezes. It then gives me a feature transfer error. I have tried registry cleaner and clearing out the IsProBE file to no avail. I don't know if the disc is corrupt or somehow the files on disc two have been changed somehow. It seems the disc always stops running at the same location C:\...\Assets\Sounds\Soundtrack\Medieval\PalestinaGloria.mp3 . Only file viewable on disc 2 is data3.cab

The error reads

Feature Transfer Error
Feature: DefaultFeature
Component: Civ4Component
File: D:\data3.cab
Error: Incorrect function.

The only option is to cancel instalation.

I am running a pentium 4, 2.6 ghz system with 1gb ram with and a gforce 7600 video card running windows xp
.

 any help would be appreciated

is there any place i can get the data file downloaded since i have the run disc?

Similar problem as you. I get through the first disk of the install but freeze up when I try to get disc two recognized.

Do you get into disc 2 or does it freeze right up?

I'm wondering if there is anything on disc 2 that is needed or can we Custom install and just use disc one, then maybe use an update/patch to gather anything we are missing that is wanted after the fact.

how do you post these Alt/Prt Screens in your posts? I tried doing it but was not able...I'm also having similar problems to you, but my disc 2 doesn't even begin to load.

You need to save the screenie as a file (eg: .jpg), then use the Go Advanced button just below where you type your reply, scroll down to Additional Options and use Manage Attachments to upload your file.

gave the thread a look, even tried the isobuster program. It allowed me to copy the file over but with 41 errors, I am begining to think this is a lost cause. Anyone know where I can get the data3.cab file short of buying a new game?:wallbash::badcomp::deadhorse:
