Civ IV will be on steam

Thank you for the info. I bit the bullet and bought it... and same old same old mac issues. Leaders look like skeletons. Slow. Choppy. I tried to play it on my MacBook (which I use to play on bootcamp) and it is so slow that it is almost unenjoyable... no it is unenjoyable. I like the idea of steam, I just wonder why the hell the mac version of this game is still so much slower and crappier than the PC version?

I love my mac, but man... it's hard to play this on her when it runs so much better on the PC side.

At least I have Colonization now.. whatever that is.

Turn off antialiasing and that will fix the leaderheads.

Civ4 was in my opinion somewhat crippled by needing to support both PPC and Intel Macs, plus Civ4 is DirectX based and thus suffers performance wise when converted to OpenGL. This is true of pretty much every game that was converted around the same time. Aspyr took way too many shortcuts with Civ4 though.

Turned Anti-aliasing off... I think it fixed the problem. Thanks. As for the speed though.. is it purely openGL? All graphical? Because it feels more just clunky all around. Especially on my laptop. I can play with joy on the PC side of my laptop... but the mac side is horrid. It is weird how a slow game can completely change the feel of the game. I feel like my empire is suffering because of the slowness.
