Civ soundtracks, and which one is best.

Disclaimer: I haven't played the first three ones.

Best modern music is definitely Civ 3.
Best Renaissance and Industrial Era music is Civ 4. One reason I love those eras is the classical music.
Best theme is Civ 4.

It's fine. I've never got around to playing the first two, so we're in similar boats.

Civ 2 hands down for me. I haven't played it a few years, and I still have snippets
of the music in my head

I used to love Colonization's music (the 1994 one). But as for Civ games, III, mainly for nostalgia probably, and IV.

Civ3, with Civ4 coming close behind. Colonization also has some good music, and it sticks in your head forever.
