Hello there gentlemen/ladies. Ever since I purchased Civ V on the release date, I have had a terrible buzzing noise that affects all of the audio in the game. This buzzing only begins when I'm in game, and it affects voices, music, and sound effects. My computer runs the game on high settings with no issues, so it is not a hardware issue as far as I can tell. I am running it on a desktop and I have a subwoofer as a part of the sound system, however, this issue does not cease when I disconnect the subwoofer. I have tried searching everywhere for a solution and cannot find one. I was hoping that you fine people might be able to help me. Frankly, it's gotten a little tiresome and I just want to fix it.

Hmmm... I remember that If I tweaked the audio settings on civ4 I could run on those problems.

Perhaps some program you've got to tweak the sound do something.
Or maybe you have corrupted sound files? Do you have this problem with just civ5 or other games are affectes just as well??
Try veryfing the cache of civ5, if so.

Also try turning some audio settings to off, try first music, then audio and so on, see if the problem persist. If so, then you may have a problem that is not based on civ5.

Are you still suffering from this, isn't it?

Hi there,

had the same problem;
long troubleshooting - no result.
Finally understood I was launching the DX9 version, instead of DX11 version.

There is a file CivilizationV_DX11.exe; launch that and see if the problem is solved.

Let us know the result.

Bye
