I was thinking we may need to incorporate sub-civics, to better tailor the tent civics. Modern politics are either Left or Right wing, liberal or conservative, and are usually found somewhere in the middle in order for them to work best for the society it serves. In Civ IV, it never sat well with me, the idea of Environmentalism as a civic. What would be a better and more liberating idea would be to have the option on how to critique a particular system. You should be able to choose if you have a completely deregulated free market, a regulated free market, or an ecologically friendly free market. To further the depth of involvement of the ideology system, I recommend bring back the class society system from Civ I and Civ II, but set up as upper, middle and lower class.
Hope I am not jumping the gun or throwing too many liquid ideas out there.
I was thinking more the use of Mein Kampf, not the word Fascism (which is already in the game) would be bad, seeing as it is a banned Nazi book in Germany.
As for a "holy building" maybe even something like "Fascist Manifesto" would suffice.
Yeah, it probably would, although it wouldn't be ideal given the specific holy texts of other ideologies.
In defense of not have every ideology conflicting, you can for example have a Fascism and Socialism in one, for example, National Socialism, Or Fascism and Capitalism, i.e. General Pinchots former government in Chile.
Just to pull you up on something, you can have Fascism and Socialism as one, but it is not National Socialism, which hasn't really got anything to do with socialism. Originally, at its founding, it did, but what it evolved into was only named National Socialism to make people think it was good for them. And again, there would be issues with selling the game in Germany, I assume, if NS was included.
