I just have a quick question.

I know that the music files for Civ V are in the install directory, but I also know that there is an official soundtrack that was released for the game that has far fewer songs on it.

My question is, is it illegal to take all of the songs from the install folder and put them on iTunes?

I figured that because I payed for the game, I should be able to access and use all the files. Or am I wrong?

Thanks, and sorry if I posted this in the wrong sub-forum

If you got the deluxe version you can put all the songs on itunes, I know, because I have done. I think if you didn't get the deluxe version you can't (or not as easily).

If you have the deluxe version there is a trick you have to do to convert the game files to itunes format. I can't remember exactly how but I could find out tomorrow. Bit late here now.

*I cant imagine using files from a game you bought just for personal leisure would ever be illegal.* Now if you were to share or sell said files, then lawbreaking would certainly occur.

Thats what I figured, but because they released a soundtrack you had to pay for, I just wanted to be sure.

I guess Firaxis is trying to make as much money as they can, reselling you music that your already bought

The means to convert was explained in this thread and is super easy (it is what I did).
