I think the gulf of Thailand was added with the Cambodia and Indonesia dlc because Cambodia has a coast on the gulf of Thailand

On an overcrowded map with Monopolies game mode I found this particular island. Which hosts 90% of natural cocoa production, so naturally I am goig to call it the Cocoa Island:

Too bad there is not a resourceless jungle to build Chichen Itza on. Only one on the land to the west.

My first thought was Loompaland, where the Oompa Loompas came from.

Alas, my laptop can't take screenshots in fullscreen mode without throwing a wobbly, so this is from a phone camera, but it was just too funny not to share.

(Mods used -- Gedemo's Dolmen, sick early game faith generator, and George HW Bush. Unfortunately Dubya is not an option I've found yet!)

Edit -- oh and Jerusalem is just a few tiles away from Kabul. Couldn't make it up!

Cahokia is also a bit of a way off but it would lend a sense of continuity to have America building their mounds in a way that sadly doesn't exist in the real world.

So today I decided to go to war with France, and I was curious as to why they only had two cities so late into the game. Upon unveiling more of the map of the island they were on, I quickly had my answer. Turns out they had lost 3 settler units all to the same barbarian tribe. This actually worked out very well for me. Not only did I get three settlers out of the deal, but as you can see the barbs also really weakened Paris, so conquering the French was something that became incredibly easy.

Feeling cocky, I next decided to try taking the Roman capital just northeast of France's island. I already had a spy established there, so I could see their forces didn't look all that impressive, just a warrior and archer unit (in the 1500s no less!), a horseman or two, and a trebuchet. By contrast, I had a small levied army (knight, 2 pikemen, a trebuchet unit, some crossbowmen) along with my own forces (another pikeman, a trebuchet, and a few more crossbow units). I figured it should be a walk in the park. But . . . very quickly some trebuchet units appeared from the north, along with two vampires (one from the north, one from the east). Then three caravels also came out of nowhere and began sinking some of my units before they could even touch land. In just a few turns, my invading army was utterly wiped out. This was actually one of the biggest bloodbaths I've seen in any of my VI games in a long time now. Ooff...

I took the pictures after it was sunk but I did have a quadrireme as well, though it was very quickly sunk by the Roman fleet (my other caravels were admittedly busy elsewhere exploring and whatnot). I guess I was taken by surprise that the Romans even HAD a fleet, because in my experience I haven't always seen the AI make that a priority

Certainly! Civ6 launched in 2016. Those 1545 hours are spread over nearly 10 years. We could compute (roughly) 450 weekends in that time, meaning you spent less than 3 hours per weekend. Totally reasonable!
