This is semi-OT but I've seen worse so here goes. Two of my kittens, Kiptopeake and Jasper, enjoy sitting on my lap (or right in front of the display) and watching all the action and eye candy while I play Civ IV. If those tiny military units knew the enormous paw that was trying to swat them, they'd faint!

Anyone else got a cat, dog, ferret, bird, miniature horse, or planarian that looks into the monitor along with you? One that tries to play with those fancy toy soldiers?

One of my cats watches with me. She always swats the leaderheads because they pop up suddenly.

Naa, my cats and dog don't really care for PC games.

They're more into billiards.

Every time someone declares war on me and that annoying trumpet sound comes, my parrot mimics it.
Ive sometimes gone from the screen after ending the turn and all of a sudden my parrot declares war and I run back in panic. :)

My cat seems to go out of her way to avoid looking at the screen. Though at first some of the sounds made her curious.

One of my cats tracks the mouse pointer, one of these days he is going to pounce. Occasionally he will stroke the screen, reminds me to trim his claws. Really gets involved with CoD2 though, doesn't like it when "we" die. ;)
My other cat doesn't watch me on the computer, he prefers to stare at himself in the mirror.

My fish stare at the TV when hockey is on though. Oddest thing ever. Never knew fish liked to watch TV, never mind having a favorite program.

My cat fallow the units on the screen and some times try to catch one with it's paw. Bus, most of the time, after following the game for a while, it fals sleep on top of the monitor.

Out of my three cats:

1 does not care for the game at all (and will leave the room if I'm playing it)
1 enjoys watching the animations (I think, you never can tell)
and the last just enjoys pouncing on my keyboard, causing random things to happen (and I'm sure this is the same one that reports to the mothership)

My kitten watches when I play. Then again, she does the same thing when I take a leak. At least she only swats at the cursor.

My cat used to be a video game junkie. Back in the day he would lay on the bed next to me and watch me play Donkey Kong Country on my SNES. Not just a passing interest, either. I would play for hours and he would lay there and watch. He would also come running when he heard the startup music for the game.

These days, he is more comfortable sleeping on top of my monitor, since it get right warm. He is going to be disappointed when I switch to a LCD next year.

Heheehe........

A parrot mimicking the game sounds -- there's something I hadn't thought of! :-D

To (partially) disable Feline Command Mode I press the "Paws" (oops, the Pause) key before leaving the keyboard and mouse. :-)

In a way I miss old-style CRT monitors. Cats can't curl up atop a LCD. Though one of mine does sometimes sit on the top edge, it's hardly a stable perch.

My fish sit behind me and I know they watch either me or the game. My cockateal likes to watch horse and auto races but not games. However if I zoom in on a jungle and turn up the sound she'll talk to the birds in the game.

Autumn (my cat) sits on my lap or across my shoulders at every oppurtunity. And Civ4 has been giving her Lots of oppurtunities. Since I often mute the games music I turn up the ambient sounds. In the begining, when I'd zoom into a jungle, the bird sounds would get her in hunting mode and she'd make 'bird calls' and twitch her tail like a wounded snake. I got alot of laughs zooming in and out and then changing my speaker balance while watching her try to locate the birds.

Other sounds used to get her attention as well. But the noise that occurs after every round of combat appeared to annoy her as much as it does me. During a turn of multiple battles she would noticably tense up.

Oh and Leanord Nemoy's voice surprised her a few times and she'd tilt her head to one side and try to figure out who was talking. Either that or she remembered his voice from watching Star Trek with me. lol

What a stupid topic. Who cares about your cats...
