civ1 GOTM?

That's a really fuzzy answer that doesn't have any real reasons at all.

Of course, it's more new and an upgrade. Just because it is doesn't mean it's better. Pocahontas was a good movie. Pocahontas 2 was rubbish, Pocahontas 3 shouldn't have been made and Pocahontas 4 was so twisted and horrible when I saw it I flipped out and killed my family. Point? Just because something is more *new* and cited as an *upgrade* is no grounds for it being better.

Word.

And back on topic. I'm glad to see more civ1 players showing their heads. But if this GOTM is going to work.. we need more.

Here's a scenario, all you have to do is conquer, its easy but different so it should be fun.

There are some bugs however, if you destroy all the other civs, you won't win the game, youll just keep on going forever by yourself .

So, it's your score when the final enemy city falls?

Someone has to fix it or edit it

Did you try it? what do you think?

Not yet. I'm working on some stuff at the moment. Later.

It ended ok for me. - Hammered them with catapults.

But it shows that the visibility function in TerraForm needs a little work.
So as not to leave unintended squares visible.
The fix little map button under action visibility will clean up the little map.
If you click on the big map when visibility is the current action it will flip the square between visible and not.
.

hmm ok.

Can you edit whether the other civs will respawn?

And by the way, the riflemen defense was set to 8.

Im currently working on another scenario. I wanna be able to set some wonders to destroyed, is that possible with cived15?. and possible ban some units or technologies.

oh yea And theres a bug in unit edit, when you click done and exit, you have to have a unit chosen.

Who agrees with me that Tenochtitlan's save shouldn't be the offical first GOTM? Rather a test one, like a warm up?

I didnt say I want it to be GOTM

Not to my knowledge, it seems ramdom.

And by the way, the riflemen defense was set to 8.
How did you do that? Did you use one of those programs that modify the civ.exe?

It does seem to be an anomaly. If no unit is selected using the remove button will end the unit session.

No, CIVED15 edits the sve file, the values are all stored in the sve file for some reason.

Sorry. My bad.

By the powers invested in me by the keepers of the Oracle flame, I here by proclaimed Tenochtitlan to be the first GOTM.

Why? you might ask... because the thread is titled "civ1 GOTM?" and his was the first to be posted.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it
-- Omar Khayyam

basically one can not change the past.

:D

Great post Dack. I agree with your reasoning.

/in for this GOTM.

Good quote Dack.

By the way, cities placed near water in Terra form do not always have the ability to build sea units, at least they don't for me

I've seen this is regular play. I have yet to figure out the cause. I had forgotten about it. I'll have to look into it.
