I wish that there were Civ1 GOTMs running. Civ1 is a good game. Post here if you think so too.

There has been one, but I wasn't mod in this forum yet.

You can always start one; or make a Game Of The Quarter or something. All your have to do is start a game, save it the first turn (or second if impossible) and post it here.

I'd like it too. Only I need a new computer first, or maybe I have to find Civ1 for Windows or something. My dos-game can't read the extended memory and the basic memory isn't enough so that I could save a game:(

Do you really mean it would? At the time being I've only played Civ1 on an old laptop with Win95. And the mouse doesn't work if I go to dos, so I've played from Windows that makes a dos-window. I'd otherwise play from dos, but I don't know how to zoom into the cities without a mouse:(
But I'm soon going buy a new laptop with XP so maybe I could get it to work with a Dosbox there:hmm:
I haven't even tried to install it on my regular computer, maybe it would like that computer better.
:aargh: I need a home, ONE home! Not three.

Have you read the documentation? I don't really know that much about it myself except that there is a text file in which you can change some settings.

Should we start our own GOTM, or notify the DoM and see if he likes the Idea?

I would suggest to simply post a savegame, name a deadline, and start playing, Nylan. :) No need to wait for DoM.

Besides, I've started both the GOTM for Civ2 as well as for Civ3, so you can always ask me for help. ;) But it's as complicated as you make it yourself. I mean, you actually don't need a website at all. Especially not for such small amount of participants.

 No. I know only how to do one thing with a computer and that is how to break it:mischief:. I know that the mouse should be loaded somehpw in dos, but I don't know how and my friend doesn't remeber how. It's been so long since dos was part of the big picture.
