Hi Guys

I am about to upgrade my PC to Windows 2000 from M.E, are there any problems running Civ3 on 2000?

Regards

Not that I know of.

Riker I had Win2k and had to reinstall '98 to play, something about my .inf file for my NEC monitor wasn't compatable with window 2000 and the game.

Doh! now there is a seed of dought, should I of should I not........................................................

should work fine. I had win2k pro and Civ3 hasn't crashed on me at all. Upgraded to XP and all kind of funny stuff started to happen when I'm playing Civ3 until it corrupted the FAT. Reformatted my hdd and reinstalled win2k and never had another problem since.

That's not quite true, I'm running it at 85Hz on Win2k Pro with no problem whatso ever, the trick is to enter it into the .ini file as refresh=85 IIRC. I'm not at home right now so I'll check it when I get home.

BTW I can't remember who ever said Win2k isn't any good for playing games, all I know is that whoever said that is full crap.

Thanks Guys

Thats it then I will install Windows 2000.

Regards

PS: Other than the forum, is there any way of sending a mail to the civ team directly?

On some, you can check on the OSD of the monitor.

If not, look in display properties (right-click desktop), and you'll find it somewhere there.

I'd leave the refresh rate at default though. But if you must fiddle with it, make sure you know how to boot into safe mode first :p coz if you set it outside of the monitor's range of refresh rate, you'll be in big doo doo :p
