Civ3 Complete locking up

I've been playing Civ3 (v1.22) Complete for a month, but this is the first time it's ever locked up. It happens during the computer's turn, about 10 seconds into the turn. The hourglass is moveable (via the mouse), the the message box in the lower right corner says "Please wait". Task Manager says the game is "not responding". I've loaded the game on another computer and the same things happens. I've gone back multiple saves, but it always locks up at the same moment (when the english boat sailes east). Any suggestions? The file zipped is over 500K, so I can't upload it.

You should be able to use the Easy Upload system.

Look at the bottom of the page, it'll be down there.

I get the same thing. Not sure what's going on with it.

Problem solved. I went back to an earlier version and figured out a way to get the AI to change the boat's direction.
