CIV3 (Complete) will not luanch...

Weird, but this happens randomly.

Go to any icon (root directory, autoplay, shortcut) and my computer freezes completely. Always have to shut down cold and restart. This happens about 80% of the time so I'm often friggin with my comp by restarting it.

Any suggestions on how to fix my issue?

whats your system specs? and was the civ 3 complete you bought new or used? i have had some problems with complete myself

Have you tried reinstalling?

A decent machine

3.2 GHZ P4
512 RAM
40 GB hard drive (i.e. plenty of virtual mem.)
64MB GeForce

I haven't reinstalled quite yet - but I think I'm going to. Yes it is brand new.

Interestingly, this problem has replaced that annoying sound issue - every once in a while Civ3 starts up with constant chirping and gets worse

Re-installing is the easiest thing - now where are my CDs...
