Civ3 Conquest has caused an error in Civ3Conquest.exe

Hello people, I am hoping you guys can help me here.

I just bought Civilization III: Conquest, installed it, downloaded the 1.22 patch and installed it.

But when I try to play the game, it loads the game, than there's a black screen and it causes an errror saying:

"Civilization 3 has caused an error in Civ3Conquest.exe, if this problem keeps happening, please restart your computer"

The message is something like this....

After I click close, the screen stays black and after I restart my computer, the game still doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try reinstalling it and running it before patching it

It worked. I reinstalled the game and ran it and it worked. And the version is 1.22, I guess the patch didn't get deleted.
