Civ3 with Civ1 graphics?

I've never played Civ1, but I've seen the graphics, and they make me want to throw up. NO, Civ1 graphics would not make the game more addictive; in fact old graphics like that would be the antidote for Civ3 addiction. (That's just my opinion, though...)

Civ I has better graphics! Rivers are streaming. in civ 2 and civ 3 they are static.

EDIT: Snoopy, there is challenge for you - make civ 3 look like civ 1, but with streaming water

I've tried to teach my girlfriend Civ3, but was unsuccessful.

I tried when I was playing civ 2...(before CIV III was out) she sat down 2 minutes looking at me saying
-why do you build a railroad there???
-For my troops and workers to move instantly
-Instantly...thats not possible! and there are railroad everywhere!
-well thats better for commerce
-Why? Whats all those skulls?
-Pollution
-I thought it was dead people, this game is stupid! Can I play to PacMan now?

I dont love her for her CIV skills...

I will revive a true life story joke I posted hear a year ago, when the first patch for CivIII came out I told my wife "There's a patch for CivIII" and she said "Is that like the nicotine patch, will it help you quit?"

Civddict, you can add more graphical things than there are in the game. I mean, if the rivers don't stream in Civ3, then you also can't make them stream.

Seems like I'll have to disagree with all of you.
1. I like better graphics. I palyed all the civ series and I am always happy theu improved not only the gameplay but also the graphics.
My example is related to Master of Orion. I only played MOO2 which I still love. I tryed MOO1 once and it felt horrible. I saw that MOO zero (actually had a different name) was a freebie and DL-ed it. I still have it but I can't play a single turn.
I'm sure I'm missing a lot but I like to have a little bit of graphics.

2. I managed to convince my wife to play civ in June and she still does. She is currently playing Monarch behind my back because I always "force" her to play "Emperor".

I would play a civ1 graphics mod but I like civ3 graphics better. It's hard to go back and play civ1 cuz I miss the animations for the little guys.

They do indeed, werdhertz. I also never said they don't.

Look at Red Alert: I think most of us agree that Red Alert is better than Command & Conquer, yet Command & Conquer looks much better. I think they're about as evenly much fun to play.
