I got some questions... :

- I'd like to modify the civ3mod.bic file of my Civ3 1.29b2, but when I try to save the file it stays in waiting cursor for long and seems not to stop... Is there a way to avoid that ?

- Also, I've got a version where all custom rules have the creat and delete buttons availaible but they don't work for every thing, actually they don't work for : Combat experience, Difficulty levels, Diplomats and Spies, Eras, Terrain, Worker jobs and World Size.

- And finally... What are the Civilopedia Entry (references and other things) ? How do I use it ? How can I add them or modify ?

- In fact, I'd like to know everything to modify the game entirely lol

- Civ3Edit for Mac does not work with Civ3 1.29 files. I think we already established that. To avoid it, don't do it. Edit a version 1.21 .bic file.

- No idea what the add/delete buttons are good for, but I recall they were created as an unofficial add-on to the editor, and therefore it's not surprising if they don't work for all parts of the application.

- The civilopedia entries in the .bic refer to tags in the civilopedia.txt and pediaIcons.txt files, and make it possible for the software to find pieces of text and graphics relating to the items in the .bic. That's how the civilopedia knows things like the upgrade rules and A/D/M performance of units. It's also where some of the leaderhead image references for the civs are linked, via pediaicons.txt.

- The process of editing a .bic file is pretty much the same on a Mac as it is on a PC, so you should look for the How To Threads in Creation and Customisation.

One tip: watch out for text file line endings. Use a text editor that can save with DOS line endings (carriage return + line feed), which standard Mac editors don't do. There's a modified version of TextEdit in my signature that lets you select DOS line endings when saving a file.
