Spose it's been a few days without a "Where's Hitler" thread.

Dale.... How long to the patch now. I've stopped playing my current RTW game because I want to play with the proper units.

Wolfshanze , you gonna share it please LOL I wanna copy .
Of course... not my work (it's DWolf's), but here's the Civ4 BtS-compatible Hitler Mod (with Nazi flags):

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=6245

To Install:
Dump the contents in the Civ4/Beyond the Sword/Mods folder...
Start game.
Go to "Advanced"
Load the "Adolf Hitler" mod.
Play game!

P.S.
What patch are you working on Dale? I'm not around here much (and I figured it had been awhile since somebody mentioned Hitler).

Partially off topic, but why wasn't Hitler even included in the BTS World War II mods? He was easily the most important figure in the whole conflict. Stalin committed mass genocide and he is still in the game.

(Actually, when you think about it, a lot of the leaders in the game killed huge numbers of people. Is that what it takes to be a Great Leader?)

but only hitler is banned in an important market, and having to make two leaderheads and wokringout the logistics than simply creating one leaderhead.

Ugh... was looking over this mod and realized Hitler's Civilopedia entry listed "State Property" as his favorite Civic? What's up with that? State Property is mostly a Communist theory (which Civilization oddly makes possible with the discovery of Communism)... Nazi Germany was (more or less) a Free Market economy (with some oddities thrown-in). I of-course changed Hitler's favorite Civic to "Police State" (which requires Fascism). Anyone who uses this mod (especially to fight against Hitler) might want to change that little bit on their end as I did.

one question... why does Hitler have TWO armbands?

Because he ist das Führer, dummkopf! Das führer alvayz hast more of everytink, ja! :crazyeye:

Because Hitler was one of the greatest leaders of all time, let alone possessing a great military and political mind. I'm not saying I'm a Nazi or support Hitler or mass genocide. I'm just saying he's the man that United Germany under his own belief, and he almost took over Europe. He was brilliant. He was an evil POS but he was brilliant. This is a guy who wanted to create the New Roman Empire and almost succeeded. Give the devil his due.

I have no politically correct objections to him being in the game, but he was perhaps the most disastrous leader in German history. He lay watching films and fantasizing while sending millions of young Germans to their death fighting an unwinnable two fronted war that was the product of his own diplomatic lunacy. Now and the he intervened to take military decisions away from his experienced generals, compounding the disaster he was inflicting on his nation. The Soviet flag over the Reichstag within four years of the beginning of that suicidal war, millions of Germany's finest young men dead, millions of productive people pointlessly murdered, his country's army and economy destroyed and his country occupied by foreign powers and divided into three countries ... that tells the whole story of Hitler's true greatness. It only took him 12 years to destroy his country! "One of the greatest leaders of all time"? That's laughable.

If Hitler had died in 1942 or early 1943, the discussion would now likely be how great he was, not how bad. For many Germans by 1938, within 5 years of taking power, Hitler was as great or greater than Bismarck, because he had returned respect, power and honour to Germany. This was the view at the time, not a revisionist view from now. In the early 1940s, he was still seen with great respect within Germany, it was only when the war started to go badly and the internal hatred of the regime became known that average Germans began, quietly, disapproving of Hitler.

He was more notorious or infamous than great, he was clearly an important figure in history. As far as a good leader for Germany, that could easily be debated, but Montezuma was the leader of the Aztecs for their fall from grace too, so not all the leaders are meant to be there because they were great for their country.

Its just a game anyway.

But the reason I am posting here, and I don't know that anyone will read this but I'm hoping they do; I DLed a mod with Hitler in it as a leader but the button is of Napoleon, does anyone have a good Hitler button I can use?

the few times i play wolfshanze (cant tear away from RFC, no offense) i have learned hitler is very healthy for me.

I am a peacemonger who has never been one for a war strategy (because i hate grunt-rushes) but when i see hitler pop up, i really become an angry military machine - he has improved my war campaigns and without him i would still not be an effective warmonger.

When I saw Hitler in wolfshanze' mod, a big grin appeared on my face...
I also love Francis from Austria, Kim Jong, and many more.
It makes the game more... colorful.

if you ask me Gengis Khan or Stalin were just as bad as Hitler, number of casualities wise at least...

Thats an incredibly tiny field of comparison. You have to get down to the REASON of the killings.

Genghis killed for an empire, but was NOT sadistic or racist.

Stalin killed for Political Power. He was NOT sadistic or racist (in his killings at least, idk about his personal views.)

Hitler killed Jews, retards, etc, not because they hurt anybody, but because he did not like them at all and had incredible power. He used propaganda and charisma to achieve his goal of genocide in Germany and the annexed nations.

I do NOT like stalin. (though i must admit i do like genghis a bit) But i do not agree that he was worse or as bad as hitler. More people were killed by him, but at least he had a good reason.

But i still think that Hitler should be in. I just think that example should not be used to advocate him.

I have to admit, I do love kicking Hitler around in the Wolfshanze mod, and now that there is a Mussolini, I can take on Hirohito, Hitler, and Mussolini all in one game. :D

You can do that in Road to War too. ;)

You can even kick around Churchill, de Gaulle, Roosevelt, Stalin and Kai Shek. :D

ok, the only point is in Mao Zedong - lets ignore his failures - he was racist against buddahism, hinduism and confuscianism, taoism and much much more.

He was genocidal against Tibetians, burmese and other religous folk who didn't want to join his atheism - he also was a loser and his genocides are terrible. Like hitler, i believe he has no moral place in the game, but having one to me means having the other.

I can accept hitler because A: Mao is in the game and B: When i see either one, i become a violent warmonger which is good for me, thats my weakest area.

As far as im concerned i agree there is bias in using eastern / russian leaders who are either tyrants or lumbering oaf's - i would like to see leaders in the future i could take seriously - this would be like if the western leaders were:

USA: George W Bush - Ronald Regan - General Lee
England: William the Bastard - Tony Blair - King Henry IV - King George
Germany: Heinlich Kramer
Arabia: Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden

Great Artists:
David Arquette
Hulk Hogan

My examples are built on extremes i know, but i am also right.
