Hello dear fans (and if you read game designers)

So, why is there Mao and Stalin and Hitler not?
Just read what is written in the Ghengis Khan Mod about him (Ghengis) and the Mongol invasions. The same applies to Hitler, doesn't?

Otherwise, if you can just research fascism tech...

Else.
You can not initiate campaigns (e.g. deportations) against beleivers of other religions and members of an other nation (minority or majority in a city). Why not?

There is no crime in the game. No drugs in the game. A a large scale historic example: opium smuggling to China in 19th century.

Correct me if i am wrong but i can't see a simpathy among sibling civs (e.g. Japanese and Chinese). So, there is no trans-civ rascism - which appears in history.

So, that's it.

I have heard of pollitcal correctness. Who hasn't, for God's sake? It's ruining the world!

"Manholes are not to be called that, it may offend a woman." WTH? My dad always says he won't call them manholes when a women goes down one.

Well done, PMabey. Got it in one.

Perhaps they ar afraid of the Jew cabal?

They're here to make money, pure and simple. The whole world is traumatized, and a few game developers sure aren't going to bother to fight it.

Are we really ready to rehash all of the "Why isn't Hitler in the game debates"? 17 threads later and still people want to beat this dead horse?

Firaxis avoids certain controversies, but gives the players to mod things in that are less politically correct than the base game. That's fine with me, I don't see how they could do it better.

Psyringe: yes it sounds good. But like me most of the players will never mod.

kcbrett5: i remember to this debate. I just don't understand if you can research fascism in the original game, why did they not include Hitler? And, my thread is not about Hitler - Hitler's absence is only one piece in the politically correctness of the game. otherwise, i would never play with stalin hitler and mao as leaders. i just do not understand this doublesided measures.

Hitler lost the war. Stalin won it. Mao won his war. Victor's justice, victor's history.

Yay! We haven't had a good, old-fashioned 'Why isn't Adolf in the game?' thread in a looooong time! :D

its a game for god sake.

panda;its been to long mate

topic of hitler:yes i want him in

Also Stalin killed same or more people only he killed his own countrymen!

^ still a genocide and aslo the jews don't hate him which means the western world doesn't really which means his name can be mentioned in games, and other related materials, without the jews breathing down their necks and complaining about why the name is in the game and such.

I take it East Asian history is not one of your areas of expertise... That example is just funny!

Sympathy between civs grows over time and is subject to historical fluctuations. Two civs may be closely related and yet thoroughly despise each other (e.g. English and French for much of their history). It has little or nothing to do with common origin. Besides in civ4 two 'related' civs may start on opposite sides of the planet, so their historical relationship would be unjustified in this game.

As for Hitler, he lost. I don't see a reason why he deserves to be a faction leader for the Germans as he led the country to its destruction.

Crime is probably incorporated in 'unrest/unhappy citizens'. It makes sense as the conditions that reduce 'happiness' in many cases also raise crime rates (e.g. large urban populations). The lost revenue due to crime can be infered by the lost productivity from 'unhappy citizens' (it's a far more rational thought than to imagine that a part of the population just refuses to work because they are not happy enough).

You're right about the lack of religious deportations, but religion has just been incorporated in a civ game. Maybe civV will have a more complicated model for state religion policies.

By including Hitler in the main game they completely cut the German market out because Germany will not allow games with references to Hitler. It's about money for Firaxis, as it should be, so mod him in if you want!
