Civ4lerts AND a hero question

A few questions. Sorry if any have been answered in the past and I simply was not looking in the right places. I just started a few days ago. I really enjoy this mod btw. BTS was getting bland for me untill I found this little slice of heaven.

1. Civ4lerts. Will this work with FFH? If so How should I go about installing it properly to work with this mod. If not does someone have a working version? If so could you explain to me how to go about adjusting it so it works? If its not called civ4lerts is there something similar to it that does work? I truly miss not having it running. Guess I could trial and error this one. I don't wanna severly scew anything up with my game and have to reinstall everything. :(

2. Heros and the avatar of wrath. (Very cool scenerio btw.) Should I be loosing my hero's to his summoning or vanishing of my army? Not sure which is accuring in their case. I just know shortly after he arrived I lost all my hero's except my Gold dragon. Can my dragon be vanished / aqquired if this is ment to happen?



I got a few others, tho for some odd reason I can't think of them atm. I guess those 2 are the ones that I have been starving for info on. Wish the search engine had the advanced search features :(

Xien Wolf, it gives you messages when your citys grow and a few other things. The reason I am hesitent to put it in the mods folder is that it copys over a file or 2 that might break the mod in a way that I would not reconize since i just started playing FFH2.

Its fairly usefull for me because its a nice way of reminding me to check over some citys I might forget about for quite a few turns if your empires fairly big.

Thanks seZereth, Yeah its not that big of a deal I don't guess. Just something that would be nice to use.

I find myself coming to the forums and wiki every few hours trying to hunt down pieces of information about the mod the past few days when I get stumped. The alerts thing was just something I found very scarce info on.

Edit**** Just to be alittle more clear. I wasn't really asking for any special atention just curious wether its been done as the Civ4lerts goes. The only message I found was from a fairly long time ago saying the Mod team was not gonna add it. So I was just curious if someone out there might have added it.

I guess the hero question should have been in the strategy forums. I wouldn't have asked that question if it didn't take so much time to get to the late game to do testing with the wrath.

For example Like a moron I just spent 2 days redoing games trying to capture that red dragon. Because I read somewhere yesterday (obviously from older version) he was capturable. Only to finally figure out to day again after a 200 turn attempt to zerg the beast with subdue animal units that I was totally off the mark. I found the post just now after posting this reply (not sure why I didn't see it yesterday), That says he was capturable by some "special unit?" that was not in .25?

Acheron is capturable, but not with the Subdue Animal promotion. He is capturable by Inquisitors and other units which can convert defeated units (I believe the Hippus hero is the only other one currently implemented).

As for heroes turning to the Avatar, that is normal and to be expected, but it will be fixed in "Shadow."
 
Capturing him requires the Command promotion (which I think isn't available to any unit through experience, and which only Inquisitors start with). This gives a 50% chance of capturing any living unit.

Magnadine (the Hippus Hero) is supposed to have the special ability of having a 100% chance of capturing any living barbarian unit, but that ability hasn't been implemented in BtS FfH yet.

Awsome thank you very much! I was honestly just sitting back relaxing licking my wounds reading the MMO forums after the failed attempt today from trying to capture him in my last game a few hours ago.

Thanks as well Magister Cultuum. I think provided i win the the 50% chance roll I will get him this game. I refuse to use the map editor and just grant him to myself. =D Thats gotta be sick having 2 dragons in a players empire.

I like the wrath event. I guess its safe to say I also need to use inquisitors to have a chance at recapping my hero's if they do turn on me in the wrath event.
 
Just an update. I finally caught him this game (probably not a big deal other than the time spent trying to figure it out the past few days). I really have no knowledge of D&D lore. So this mods been really hit and miss with learing and understanding it everything.

But I just wanted to say thanks again. I was quite bummed earlier after spending so much time the past few days trying to capture him in various games with hunters and finding out I was doing it wrong.

I saved the game right after I caught him gonna start it up again tomorrow after digging up some info on Cult of the dragon (I think its called).
 
I'm not sure the cult of the dragons works wellwith FfH 0.25
 
Its in the game already, but doesn't spread much because it relies largely on the Evangelism mechanic, which isn't in yet. It has been completely reworked for Shadow.
 
That reminded me of a problem I caused in my game. I decided to make the cult of the Dragon show up in the city with Acheron (who also gained this religion, and evangelist), but the Holy city not be founded until Euabatres/Abashi. When ever the religion is founded I get a CtD. I keep forgetting to go back and fix this.
 
No. It was kind of pointless really, especially since evangelism doesn't work in pre-Shadow BtS FfH (the mechanism has been reworked from the ground up, probably much improved). I just wanted to make him like the other Dragons, I guess. ( I made him have the CotD religion so he wouldn't be able to capture other dragons without combat, yet not be captured in the same way.)

Oh, I also gave the Roar spell a small chance of converting nearby units to the Cult of the Dragon, and made casting it no longer depend on having units already following it nearby (so long as there is some rival unit within range). I aslo took away the negative effects of the cult in barbarian cities, since they were being destroyed when the cult spread to them. In some Labruscum games, most barb cities died out before I even found them before I made this change.
 
Grigor Lounnators have 100% chance to convert units they defeat inc. archeron. I think thereare two different promotions, one gives 50% chance the other 100%.
 
No, I'm pretty sure there is only one, and its for 50%. However, when it was first reintroduced to BtS FfH, then its percent chance was 100%. It has been changed back for quite a while. Are you way behind in downloading patches?
