How much does the tile improwments cost? Is there a difference between types of improvements e.g. farms or mines? Thank you all.

Makes one wonder why they described the Inca's unique ability like they did.
"No maintenance cost for improvements on hills; half cost elsewhere"
Should just read roads and railroads so people wouldn't get confused.
Or do forts, citadels or some of the great improvements cost maintenance?

thank you :) so why not put improvements everywhere instead of having waiting workers?? and another quistion while were at it. how does the age of the earth and the temperature affect the gameplay?

The younger the world is, the more hills and mountains there are. Older, less hills and mountains.

Warmer worlds have more desert and jungle and less tundra and snow, and the opposite with cold.

Having both at their standard setting creates the most varied maps.

People do that? I always make sure that my city has enough improved tiles to work.
City has 11 people? It has 11 improved tiles at least, usually keep it a bit higher.
I never have workers waiting unless it's war and have to hide my workers in a city or near the end where all workable tiles are already improved.

Young earth = lots of hills and mountains
Hot earth = Lots of desert if arid, lots of jungle if wet.
Cold earth = lots of tundra/snow

edit: sorry, ignore, already answered.
