Hello everyone, first topic here! I generally only registered just to somehow report this error so I hope you guys can send this issue to the right guys cause I didn't find anything on their site.

Alright,

There is an bug when it comes to counting how many angry/happy citizens your civilization has.
The problem exists when,

You are in a war and your foe gives you several cities for peace treaty let's say 5.
You accept this peace treaty and Annex/puppet prompt appears. Now, you click "View City" on all the five cities that were given to you.
When you've viewed them all, you now click Puppet.
(Note: that after clicking Puppet on one of the cities the other prompts disappear)
Now you have got minus in happiness but only from ONE of the cities (The one you clicked puppet on) The other cities are Annex but they are NOT in the count!

When reloading a save from this map, the happiness is correct.

(Happend to me just now. I got +22 i happiness. Took lunch. And now I have -33)

Please forward this to some dev.

We've had other reports where happiness isn't correctly calculated for annexed/puppeted cities, but your situation seems different. Please post a save file that illustrates the problem. Thanks!

Posting the saved file will only show you the situation I have now with -33 in happiness.

When reloading a save from this map, the happiness is correct.
As it corrects the miscount when loading a saved file.

I understand. We would like to have a save file from a turn before the problem begins. Do you have an appropriate autosave file?

But that's the problem, Petek. It breaks upon reloading. No use loading an earlier save, it breaks too then!

Are you having the same problem as jjoacim? I don't understand what you mean by "It breaks upon reloading." If you're saying that the problem occurs when reloading from an earlier save file, then that's exactly what we want to see: The earlier save file.

I understand the difficulty understanding, I'm facing the difficulty understanding it. Let's try with an example (please excuse me for the lack of proper grammar):

Start game -> play until you loose from Mr. Sandman -> quit Civ5 with happines of 14 -> wake up other day and yearn to continu where you left -> load Civ5 where I quit, happiness down to -68 -> trying a different save (7 turns earlier) hapiness down to -73 -> trying an autosave (4 turns earlier) happines down to -74.

It doesn't matter what savegame you load, in every savegame you load the hapiness differs from what it was when you played the game right from the start WITHOUT ANY LOADING. I am curious what you find as the happines index though, Petek. See my two additionally attached savegames.

Running .621 patch btw and installed my game through Steam, mods and another savegame available / as mentioned here.

EDIT: and to stress, it doesn't break upon loading an earlier save. It 'breaks' upon loading in general.

Thanks for posting the save files. However, both files use mods. We can't confirm bugs in this situation because we can't tell whether or not the mod is causing the problem. We do appreciate your taking the time to file your report, though.

I guess I'll take it to the mod makers topic then :).

jjoacim's description of this bug seems to be exactly what happened to me Weds and ruined my Immortal Iroquios game. Alex gifted me 5 cities and some other stuff in return for peace and I accepted. I clicked tgo raze the first small city that had nothing of merit.

I then clicked puppet on the 2nd city that popped up and YES the other prompts went away, and YES the remaining 3 cities were annexed, but my happiness didn't take the severe hit it should have from annexing 3 medium sized cities. NO, I didn't click to annex any of them as my plans were to puppet a couple and likely burn 1 or 2 more.

A few turns later I save and go to bed with -6 happiness and when I reloaded yesterday my happiness was -34 and a careful look shows that my happiness should be -34.

The save/reload happiness issue has been seen by me since I started playing this game but never this severe. I am using the same .621 patch as everyone else and not playing a modded game !! This is not a mod issue, it is a GAME BREAKING bug that needs to be fixed PRIOR to release of the upcoming patch.

I do not recall prepatch the issue of automatic annex of remaining gifted cities after you first click to puppet one of them.

A similar bug occurs when you save while razing cities and then reload that save. Then the game now counts unhappiness against you for having annexed those cities. But when you click to raze as soon as you conquer that city, you get no added unhappiness (as I think it is intended).

2K/Firaxis... there are a couple threads here mentioning these issues so please fix them.

... thx... neilkaz ...

I'm "glad" other experience this too.

I was not playing in any mod. Latest patch.

Win 7

I'm actually not playing the game until this is fixed, kind of ruined my gameplay experience...

Yes, I do see why you're not happy with gameplay experience. It has ruined my Iroquois game since rather than starting from saved turn 148 I have to reload autosave 120 and then when Alex (I have too many knights for him to handle) decided to gift me cities, I will have to raise them all.

I'll likely just start another game.

I do wonder how this bug got past the beta testers. .. neilkaz ..
