Civ6 ban war/make it harder mod?

Hello there!

I am looking for any mods that potentially ban war, or at least make it harder and so unrewarding that players have less of a reason to wage it. Intended for multiplayer use, in case this is relevant.

Could you help? I've tried browsing around with little success so far.

A mod might be made where war could only be declared with cassus belli & -X diplomacy modifier. I also think that would make things more realistic.

In the file DiplomaticActions.xml, each type of declaration of war has a cost of 0 (gold). You could set it to something absurd like 1000000.

There's a mod called 'Peaceful War' in the Civ 6 workshop on steam that seems designed to do what you are looking for (I haven't tried it).

Thanks, I did end up digging that up eventually. Playtested it in a single game - will need to see more of it but it does look promising. Perhaps a further boost in town defenses could work even better for my purpose, but I guess I will have to dig into the mod files and figure out how to edit them. It seems like a natural way to move the game in the direction I'd like to play and I appreciate that.

already in the base game, just click on a city and set production to walls/archers

Oh anathema, people exist who may wish different options to a multiplayer experience than spamming archers! Kill them with stones, those lazy buggers!

Thank you for being constructive, mate. This seems like a good attempt to discourage early wars in a natural way and I will check it out.
