I've been playing CivII and CivIII for a while but have never used the editor in either for anything.

Here is my question. If I change something in the editor, will the changes take place in every game I play in afterwards.

Ex: If I give tanks a movement of 5 and I play on a random map with eight civs, will the tanks have a movement of 5, or will I only be able to use the changes in a mod?

I hope this makes since...

you make changes, and those changes you can save in a "bic" file. then, you "load scenario" and choose your nifty.bic file, and youll have your 5 movement tanks. if you wish to play under standard rules, just 'start new game' instead of 'load scenario'

You can also change the basic rules of the game by altering the civ3mod.bic situated in the root directory of Civ3. This will affect every new game which will NOT be a scenario, as it will replace the standard rules. Be sure to backup the original civ3mod.bic somewhere, or you won't be able to restore defaut settings.

Thanks guys. I came home tonight and decided to give it a try....I never knew you could do so much in the editor. I really think I understand what is going on......:).
