Civilis(z)ation Only Spells?

Fall From Heaven is a great mod (It recalls a time when I spent playing Test Of Time, the expansion for Civ2 and its own fantasy bit with dragons and nuclear fireballs) and while I am not long in playing it, I am wondering if in the future civilis(z)ation only spells will become available in the future?

Say three unique spells with each one requiring a diffferent type of mana (although I read somewhere that Loki has a unique spell so count that as one for the Balseraphs?). The spells would tie into the character of their nations and maybe their leaders. They shouldn't be limited to heroes and maybe deliberately not castable by heroes. Something to differentiate the nations more.

Oh and I know about the world spells ;)
 
I'd love to see more unique spells. Your idea is a good one in my opinion. You could even have unique spells granted by certain wonders for example, so there would be even more incentive to owning them.
 
currently every civ already has a unique world spell.
 
But not until Ice, unless you convince Kael otherwise.

(I may add one f my own in my modmod in the meantime, in addition to implementing the Ice mana/spell sphere)
 
how about "Hybrid Spells" which will reqiure more than 1 mana to learn? Maybe even spells that will require a tower from the tower of mastery. An ultimate good or death spell would be awesome ;)
 
Well, I think that the OP meant a normal spell that is accessible by that Civ, because it is that Civ (not because of any specific mana. But since each Civ has a primary Mana type, it would most likely match with that). I thought that he meant similar to the World Spells, but he mentioned at the end he was already aware of them.

So things like Dwarven Repair spells.

Not sure I can think of many ideas right now, but it would be an interesting idea, especially if it was available on more than just the Arcane line of units.
 
I did something like this in my game giving all elven (dark elves too) units a plant forest spell that works just like bloom (except for mana and channeling).

I'd like that. And for those who play games with more limited #s of mana resources it'd be pretty close to "civ only" spells.
 
It's a nice idea, but it would be hard to come up with new unique spells for each civilization - I'd rather concentrate on spicing up the existing spell spheres. While it's not exactly the same as a "favorite spell sphere" poll, the "favorite mana" thread shows that there are lots of spheres that people just don't consider very good.

This idea was in my first post on this forum. :D Kael replied that they already added too much and now the task is to balance and adjust as well as implement what is already planned.

BTW Does anyone know what is metamagic mana?

I agree with Kael. This mod has more than enough stuff already. The civs, religions, leaders, etc are all extremely unique and have all sorts of flavor. No need to get carried away and choke out the joy from the mod.

The only area I can think of that more needs to be added is events.

I agree, there are too many spell spheres. It's a little disappointing though because I'd like to see more variety in spells but the underpowered spell spheres don't necessarily suit the kind of stuff I was thinking about. For example, I'd like to see some kind of plague spell that causes population loss in cities among other ill effects. Makes sense as a death 3 divine (but Arawn doesn't grant spells) or a death3 AND entropy3 sorcery.

It might have been more interesting to have less mana options and more spells per sphere instead. That might have also led to better balance of spheres.

Oh well.

completely right! we need events.
but they should be descriptive for the atmosphere of erebrus and gameplay wise adding a choice, being fun, not being overpowered or overflawed.
So, spend your thoughts on that. no guarantee for being implemented so, but i know the team will be happy for every great (big and small) event you have.
 
Yep I was speaking about normal spells :)

Example for one of the dwarf races/Sheaim: Volcano - Turn a mountain into a volcano that damages and pollutes anything in the area (can demolish cities) and becomes dormant after a period of activity but can start up again.

I still havn't seen all the spells yet though and the ones I have seen look pretty good. Thumbs up from me for the ones that are in.
