Civilization Board Game - In Space!

Hello everyone,
I figured I'd post this here as I don't see another appropriate forum for it, and I'll apologize in advance if the question has been asked before.

Can anyone point me in the direction of rules for Civilization being done in a space setting, with galactic conquest and such, or has it been done. I recently played a game of Civ with some buddies, and the topic came up so I figured I'd do some digging.

Has there been any work done into the Board Game version of this (yes, we all still like to sit at a table and see each other face to face for epic 12 hour sessions...how archaic! ) to either start at space-faring age or to carry on into space-faring age?

I'm sorry, but AFAIK you'll have to make them up yourselves. There is a Civilization boardgame, I've heard it's differentish from the PC games though.

Galactic Emperor or Twilight Imperium are probably the closest to what you are looking for.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I saw Twilight Imperium, and I think right now that is probably the closest to what I'm looking for. Maybe I'll give it a try if I can find it.
