Is anyone aware of this (ancient: 2004) "civilization game toolkit (in java)"?
Hadn't seen it. It's GPL which would be incompatible with C7's MIT license. Per the thread it just reads BIC/X/Q data and maybe started on a mini map. We're way beyond what is claimed there. The BIC data is simple compared to the save game data, and a mini map would just be terrain and fog of war info which we have.
But I'm always happy to have open source projects not be forgotten. There may yet be a use for it by someone.
I've seen it, and briefly looked at it during our early evaluations. There's not much to say about it; it's another one of those demos that didn't get much beyond "render the contents of a BIQ"
C'est la guerre.
