I'm wondering why the Civilization II Downloads section on CFC has so few scenarios and other archives compared to the one on the site. Does someone need to "move" all the scenarios?

for *some* reason the forums here aren't as active so i just use the old way:old:

So technicaly if someone re-uploaded the old scenarios it would be a good thing?

I have downloaded LOTR4 by Harlan and have played it 50 times now. I would really like to know how to be able to play Gondor and Rohan at the same time, is there anyone that has tried this or knows how to do it make the changes in any of the .TXT files???? Or do I need something else???:(

Do you mean play them as one nation? If yes then serious changes are needed in the scenaro design (i.e. its not only the TXT files).

Okay, so it can be done? but I'm guessing this isn't anything I can do without a scenario editor of some sort? Can you point me toward one?

Well I'd put it off till the next morning. Ain't no game worth a bad nights sleep. Enjoy Civ2 modding! :)

On the contrary, all the best games are worth far more than a bad night's sleep - if my head even touches the pillow...

I forgot my Morrowind addiciton nights. Stupid comment withdrawn :mischief:

Well, you could always just turn on Cheat mode and switch back and forth between Rohan and Gondor. I haven't done this in a long time but I think it goes something like this: First you play your turn as Gondor (they are white so they always go first). Then before you press Enter to end your turn, you use the Cheat menu to switch to playing Rohan. After you press Enter you'll be in control of Rohan. Finish the turn as Rohan and before pressing Enter, use the Cheat menu to switch back to Gondor. Press Enter and you will once again be in control of Gondor. Somewhere in there, after you hit Enter, the AI moves the other civs.

LOTR4 is one of my all time favorites although I've only played it a handful of times. The hardest part is winning within the very short time frame.

If you have Fantastic Worlds, it should be easy. Get CivHot and use it to play the scenario in "Hotseat mode" as both Gondor and Rohan.

Oh, and be sure to head over to my website to get the latest version of the scenario (v4.1, compared to v4.0 available over here).

And as for the original thread subject. Yes, someone would have to "move" over the files. I think Thunderfall was already hoping someone would add them. I don't think you need to re-upload anything either, only link to the already uploaded files in the files section (though you would have to type in the file size in that case).

I may just be repeating what Mercator posted but what the hell!

I have several copies of CivII:
-Original
-Fantastic Worlds (Editor version that did not edit very well but got me into editing!)
-Multiplayer
-Gold (Patches added to Original/FW/Multi Player)

In the Multiplayer version you can have up to seven players hotseating. You can choose to play two player and control each nation in turn.
Hope that was what you were talking about!

Re: Uploading files.
It may be worth moving some of the classic files over to the new database. If everyone chose a few of their favorites and uploaded them there would be a decent amount and people may even discover some old jems. I may move a few. Ie: Imperialism 1870, Hellas, Wars of the Mediterranian!

Hi all, i had a problem with my computer and i had to change it. But my CivII CD is lost and i dont know how to get CivII game... I wonder if someone here could tell me where i can download CivII full file... or if someone could mail me the game... its not so big, so im waiting answers... THX :)

No legal downloads. Places with bargain racks often have it, otherwise check eBay - there are usually different versions available, so check carefully which you are getting.
